The mailing cage from the Ukrainian manufacturer “Zhalo” is considered one of the most functional among similar cages. In queen rearing, it can be used for:

Features of the “Zhalo” mailing cage

The mailing cage is made from hard plastic. Under light pressure it does not break or deform. It contains 8 special components, each with its own function:

1.     channel for queen cells and for the insect to exit into the bee colony;
2.     channel allowing bees access to the queen bee;
3.     sector for the queen bee;
4.     partition;
5.     cover;
6.     channel for placing the queen bee and attendant bees inside;
7.     clips for connecting cages;
8.     ventilation mesh.

   

The “Zhalo” mailing cage is divided into 4 sectors. They are separated from each other by thin plastic partitions, each of which has openings for insects to pass through.

One of the sectors, the largest of the four at 36/33mm, is intended for holding a queen bee and attendant bees, or a queen cell. It is fitted with grid-like openings located in the lower part of the cage and along the sides. Air reaches the insects through them. The other sectors are also intended for the temporary holding of bees and the queen bee. Food and water are also placed in them.

The mailing cage closes tightly with a cover, which is also made of plastic. It is completely smooth. The cover fits into special slots built into the cage and securely isolates the queen cell or queen bee.

Each “Zhalo” cage has clips that allow the cages to be connected together in a continuous row.
