The book was written by Reinhold Davidovich Rib, a beekeeping scientist, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, author of 60 published works on beekeeping, with more than 45 years of practical beekeeping experience.
The book provides recommendations on the rational organisation of beekeeping on farms, as well as in apiaries run by amateur beekeepers. Particular attention is paid to keeping bees in hives of various systems, preparing bee colonies for the honey flow and making use of it, queen bee rearing, the multiplication of bee colonies, breeding work, transporting bees and package beekeeping, as well as the overwintering of bee colonies.
