Beehives, Frames and Hive Accessories

One of the essential items in a beekeeper’s equipment is the beehive. These compact hive houses, where bees live, have changed their appearance and placement many times from their earliest use to the present day.

How to choose beehives for an apiary

Today, there are dozens of modern hive types used in apiaries. When choosing them, beekeepers should consider:

• climatic conditions;
• honey flow conditions;
• the biological characteristics of the bees;
• the bee breed.

Types of beehives

Vertical hives are among the most widely used. Multi-storey hives, Ukrainian hives, Dadant hives and Langstroth-Root hives are also in high demand.

To equip your hives with everything you need, you will also require frames, a frame grip, hive handles, a queen excluder, frame eyelets, a hive clamp and other accessories.
