The Varroa mite (varroosis) is one of the most dangerous diseases affecting bees. When poor-quality treatments are used and bee colonies are heavily infested with mites, many colonies die during the wintering period. Considering the cost of bees and the financial costs (and, most importantly, the emotional strain), there is no room for experimentation or risk in modern beekeeping. The new-generation Bulgarian treatment "Varostop" has impressed beekeepers with its effectiveness and ease of use in controlling varroosis since it appeared on the Ukrainian market. The active substance "flumethrin" deals with mite infestation in bees at any stage.
Varostop against Varroa mites destroys up to 99.9% of all mites present in the hive. Varostop consists of thin wooden strips impregnated with the active substance flumethrin. Flumethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid with a contact acaricidal effect against Varroa destructor mites (previously called Varroa jacobsoni), which has no harmful effect on bees, queen bees or larvae.

Varostop - strips against Varroa mites
Varostop consists of thin wooden strips impregnated with the active substance flumethrin.
Flumethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid with a contact acaricidal effect against Varroa destructor mites (previously called Varroa jacobsoni) and does not harm bees, queen bees or larvae.
Composition: Each strip contains 3.6 mg of flumethrin (Flumethrinum). Each pack contains 10 strips.
Pack form: each pack contains a bundle of 10 hermetically sealed tapes (strips).
Action: the synthetic pyrethroid (flumethrin) included in Varostop provides a reliable contact insecticidal and acaricidal action against the causative agent of varroosis - the Varroa Jacobsoni mite. It has high acaricidal activity - up to 100%. It paralyses the nervous system of mites and significantly reduces their population. Flumethrin has an exclusively selective action against Varroa Jacobsoni mites and does not harm bee colonies. There are no data on acquired mite resistance to flumethrin.
Indications: For the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of varroosis in bees.
Contraindications: do not use during the honey flow.
Directions for use: open the strips immediately before use. Fix one strip after every two frames. Treatment of bee colonies with Varostop is carried out: - in early spring - when larvae, prepupae and pupae occupy only a small area in the bee colony; - in summer - at the end of July to the beginning of August, when queen bees are laying eggs in a limited way, the area with larvae, prepupae and pupae is small, the remaining area is filled with honey, and most female mites are on the bees. Treatment is carried out immediately after extracting honey from the main honey flow; - in autumn - in September, when the area with bee larvae, prepupae and pupae is significantly reduced.
Dosage: the dose depends on the strength of the bee colony. For a split and weak bee colonies: 1-4 strips. For normally developed and strong bee colonies: 2-4 strips. Keep the strips in the hive for 35 days, but no longer than 6 weeks. To diagnose varroosis, place a white sheet of paper coated with grease on the bottom of the hive, keep the strips in place for 24 hours and assess the diagnostic result in this way.
Storage: in dry, well-ventilated rooms at a temperature from +15 ° to +30 ° C. Protect from direct light. Keep away from heat and out of the reach of children.
