The Api Bulgarian comb cassette in this “Max” model is designed for 110 cell cups. The cassette itself is made as a copy of the popular cassette from the Nicot system used in modern queen rearing. One side of the cassette is closed with a grid. The other side has a completely flat, solid cover.
This similarity between the Bulgarian comb and the Nicot system allows the beekeeper to use any compatible component parts. One side of the comb cassette is made in the form of a grid. The other side is completely flat and has no openings.
All parts of the Bulgarian comb and Nicot are interchangeable. Using the Bulgarian comb cassette with Api or Nicot components allows you to create queen bee rearing systems with a low-cost complete kit.
