This tube was introduced to the beekeeping market a few years after the first model with a wooden piston. In this Flober model, the manufacturer has taken into account all the comments and requests from beekeepers.

This Flober tube is made from transparent plastic, helping to prevent accidental damage during use. One of the most important improvements is the special opening in the middle of the tube. This opening is used to place the queen bee inside without removing the piston. The opening is shaped with raised edges so the queen bee can be caught directly on the honeycomb. This allows the beekeeper, especially a beginner, to place the tube over the comb with the queen bee, guide her into the Flober tube and apply the mark without risking injury to the queen bee.

The base of the piston also has a soft foam surface for delicate holding of the queen bee under the mesh during marking. The piston itself is now metal, making it more durable. It is also worth noting that the piston moves strictly perpendicular to the queen bee. This is achieved thanks to a design similar to a medical syringe. Plastic handles with rubberised material provide a smooth piston action. This is especially important when marking young and active queen bees.
