“Standard” Frame Carrier (for 6 or 8 frames)
The frame carrier is designed to make carrying frames easier. It holds 6 or 8 standard Dadant frames
Frame Carrier (choice of 6-frame or 8-frame version)
The name of this item says it all. The frame carrier is designed for carrying frames over short distances and for temporary storage. In most cases, it is needed during active honey extraction: even if your honey extractor is located next to the hives, carrying frames by hand is less convenient than using a frame carrier. The main advantage of a frame carrier is its capacity. It holds 6 standard Dadant frames. Another clear benefit is the ability to temporarily store both frames filled with honey and frames from which the honey has already been extracted. Having a frame carrier in the apiary can significantly optimise the honey extraction process, as it removes the need to carry each frame separately.
The frame carrier has special ledges inside the body on which the frames are placed. Before placing frames inside, to prevent bees from getting in, the frames should be carefully shaken and all bees brushed off. The lid should be closed every time you remove or place a frame in the frame carrier; this helps prevent bees, wasps and other insects from entering.
After finishing work in the apiary, thoroughly clean the inner and top surfaces of the frame carrier from drops of honey or wax residues. It is best to store the frame carrier in a dry place. If used correctly, this piece of equipment will serve you for many years.
