12-frame queen excluder, 0.5mm thick, Czech Republic
Vindurin is the high-quality food-grade material from which the excluder is made. The thickness of the material allows these excluders to be used in hives of various types and sizes. This excluder can easily be cut to fit a non-standard hive. An excluder made from this material can be placed between hive boxes of any design without altering the internal dimensions of the hive.
With slot openings only 4.2mm wide, the excluder reliably prevents the queen bee from accessing the honey super. These excluders are produced under computer control using laser cutting, ensuring accurate slot dimensions.
The excluder is made in two standard sizes for 10-frame (380x475mm) and 12-frame (500x500mm) hives. Given the small difference in price, beekeepers often order excluders for 12-frame hives and then trim them to their own hive size with an allowance. Using larger queen excluders allows them to cover the full area of the hive body walls, leaving the queen bee no chance of entering the honey section of the hive.
Please note: select the required type (size) of queen excluder when ordering.
