Clamp for joining hive parts together (the roof on horizontal hives or boxes in multi-box hive systems). The clamp is made from galvanised steel. Simple fitting to the hive with screws or nails, together with precise adjustment of the clamping force via the thread, makes this clamp a straightforward solution for securely fixing hives. The clamp has proved especially effective on migratory apiaries where hives are transported frequently.
The clamp consists of three component parts. A hook is fixed to one part of the hive, and a threaded bolt, secured in the retainer on the hive, is attached to it from the other part of the hive. When joining hive parts, it is recommended to install the latch at the bottom and the retainer at the top.
