Hedgehog beekeeping uncapping roller
The “Hedgehog” beekeeping roller is used in beekeeping for uncapping honeycombs before honey extraction, or for use by bees in the hive.
Hedgehog roller (for uncapping combs) with metal needles
Beekeepers use a variety of tools when they need to uncap combs, and the Hedgehog roller is designed for exactly this purpose. It has a simple construction, and the minimal number of parts makes it more reliable in use and long-lasting. The roller consists of a wooden handle and a plastic tube with a diameter of 50 mm. Metal needles, 13 mm long and 1 mm in diameter, are securely fixed to the tube. The roller works by piercing the cappings on honeycombs with metal spikes. Thanks to its design and rotating end piece, the process of uncapping combs becomes much easier.
