In most cases, an electric uncapping knife for beekeeping requires a 12 V power supply to operate. The power supply converts standard mains voltage (220V) to 12V, required for stable operation of the beekeeping knife. The power supply has a regulator that allows the output voltage to be set within the range of 12 to 16 volts. The adjustable output voltage lets the beekeeper choose the optimum knife heating temperature for the job. This power supply is quite versatile in use. In addition to connecting an electric uncapping knife, the power supply provides operating voltage for an electric beeswax foundation embedder and heating elements in the hive (used for warming hives in cold seasons). Apart from apiary work, this converter can also be useful around the home.
