Lower Hive Entrance Reducer, PLASTIC (3-piece)

Hive entrance reducer - a component designed to regulate how open the hive entrance is.

The hive entrance reducer is made from rigid plastic. It consists of three plates:

•     fixed part - an overlay for the hive, equipped with grooves for fixing the slide. The plate has two nail holes at the edges for attaching the reducer to the hive.

•     2 separate movable plates - slides. One of the plates has large openings for bees to pass through, as well as small ventilation holes. The second plate is made so that one side also has large openings, while the other is solid, with no holes. By turning the plate to different sides, the entrance can be opened or closed.

The hive entrance reducer has 3 positions: fully open entrance, ventilation, fully closed entrance.

Used on lower hive entrances.

Functions of the reducer:

•         Regulates the size of the hive entrance;
•         Protects against pests entering the hive;
•         Closes the entrance during transport.
