Nicot base for attaching to a grafting bar. The holder with cell cup from the Nicot system fits easily onto the base.
In queen rearing, it is often necessary to work with a large number of larvae. Bases and holders are used for rearing queen bees in protective cages. A large quantity of bases is convenient for beekeepers who rear queen bees in an incubator or simply in large numbers.
When making a grafting bar, the bases are arranged on it in rows. It is recommended to leave free space between queen cells so that the bees have access to the queen cells. It is sufficient to position the queen cells about one centimetre apart. The bases are fixed to the grafting bar using self-tapping screws.
The Nicot base is designed to be used with other Nicot components: the Nicot cell cup holder fits onto the Nicot base, the Nicot cell cup is placed in the holder, and the Nicot protective cage fits over the holder.
