Original cell cups are used for queen rearing in the Nicot system. Thanks to the precision manufacturing of the cell cups and high-quality food-grade plastic, these cell cups are readily accepted by bees. The cell cups are placed in the cassette for the queen bee to lay eggs and later, with larvae aged 6-24 hours, are transferred to queenless colonies for queen rearing.

Thanks to their high quality, these cell cups are becoming popular with beekeepers who use them separately from the Nicot system. They transfer larvae into the cell cups with a grafting tool and attach them to the grafting bar using melted wax.

To clean parts of the Nicot system, hot water can be used, but please note that wax melts at 65°C, while the plastic used in the Nicot system may deform at 75°C, according to the manufacturer, Nicot, France.
