Plastic grid for making a DIY pollen trap
All beekeeping products have practical uses and high value. Pollen is also on this list, as it is widely used in cosmetics, medicine and more. Throughout the year, bees collect much more pollen than they need, so 2-3 kilograms of clean pollen can be collected from each bee colony. Special pollen traps are used to collect it; they can be purchased or made yourself to suit your particular hives. The operating principle of a pollen trap is very simple: it includes a plastic plate with small round holes through which the bees pass. To enter the hive, a bee must pass through one of these holes; at this point, pollen is dislodged from its legs and body and collects below.
This pollen collection grid is made from food-grade plastic and measures 400 x 30 mm. The hole diameter of the grid is 4.75 mm.
