Queen Excluder "for Horizontal Hive"

A queen excluder for standard horizontal hives. The grid reliably prevents the queen bee from passing through, while worker bees can move freely around the hive without being hindered by the excluder.

The excluder can be used for:

• separating the honey section of the hive so honey combs can be extracted without brood;
• producing marketable comb honey where brood must not be present;
• restricting the queen bee from laying eggs in certain beekeeping methods;
• making a queen bee isolator.

The excluder is made from food-grade plastic and has no foreign odours.

Excluder size: 470 x 320 mm. With suitably sized hive bodies, it can also be used in multi-storey hive systems.
