Glass "Flaubert" Tube, Germany
Marking a queen bee is a process that requires experience and care. By using homemade or poor-quality equipment, you run a serious risk of injuring the queen bee while applying the mark. Recently, various queen marking tools have started to appear on the beekeeping market, allowing the queen bee to be marked directly on the comb, etc. Among these tools, the "Flaubert" tube particularly stands out.
The whole design of the tube is intended to simplify the marking process. The "Flaubert" is a glass tube with three openings. A plastic mesh is fitted at one end; the size of its openings allows any type of mark to be applied easily, including opalith tags, marker pens and others. The second opening is on the side, where the queen bee is placed. Once the queen bee has been placed in the tube, she should be gently pressed against the mesh using the wooden plunger. The end of the plunger has a soft covering to help prevent injury to the queen bee. The tube is manufactured to German standards, and all materials used in its production are environmentally friendly and comply with all relevant standards.
The "Flaubert" tube will be indispensable for beginner beekeepers, making it easy to mark even a young queen bee, which is known for being lively. Beekeepers also use the "Flaubert" for temporary isolation of the queen bee during work in the apiary.
