Marking a queen bee is a process that requires experience and care. By using homemade or poor-quality equipment, you run a serious risk of injuring the queen bee while applying the mark. The whole design of the tube is intended to simplify the marking process. The "Flaubert" is a glass tube with three openings. A plastic mesh is fitted at one end; the size of its openings allows any type of mark to be applied easily, including opalith tags, marker pens and others.
