The marker is the easiest way to apply a mark to a queen bee. Even a beekeeper marking a queen bee for the first time can manage this task. To apply the mark, simply bring the marker to the queen bee's thorax and the mark is done. There is no need to press or draw lines.

Marks differ in colour according to the year the queen bee was born. This high-quality Chinese-made marker for queen bee marking allows marks to be applied with a light touch. The water-based ink has virtually no smell, dries quickly and stays securely on the queen bee's thorax for her entire life. The applied mark is non-toxic, resistant to moisture and air conditions (frost/heat), and does not fade.

Even when bees are treated with preparations and remain in constant contact with them, the mark on the queen bee does not lose its brightness or shape. The marker tip is thick enough to leave a mark up to 2-2.5 mm in diameter on the queen bee with a single touch.

For easy identification of the queen bee's age by the colour of the mark, we recommend marking according to the queen bee's year of birth. In international beekeeping practice, each year corresponds to a specific queen marking colour. There are five standard colours in total (white, blue, yellow, red and green), which repeat every five years. Many beekeepers with only a few hives often use just one colour for queen bee marking (for example, the brightest one — orange or white).
