FLOBER DRVO-20 tube for holding queen bees during marking

For beekeepers who mark queen bees, there is a special device called the Flober. It is a dedicated tube for securely holding the queen bee while a mark is glued on or drawn. The queen bee is placed inside the transparent tube and, with the help of the plunger, is guided towards the mesh at the end of the tube. The plunger’s soft foam padding helps prevent injury to the queen bee. The queen bee is gently pressed against the mesh by the plunger and held securely while the mark is applied. The mesh openings are large enough for applying a mark with a marker or gluing on an opalith queen marking disc.

Thanks to its simple design, beekeepers often use the "Flober" tube to isolate the queen bee for a short time during hive inspections in the apiary.

The Flober is especially convenient for marking a young or unmated queen bee. These queens are quite active, and holding them with your fingers without causing damage can sometimes be difficult. For a beginner beekeeper, this tube will also be invaluable and will help avoid many problems, including losing the queen bee during the marking process.
