Metal Queen Excluder for a 10-Frame Hive (Poland)

A Hahnemann queen excluder helps the beekeeper control the separation of the brood section of the hive from the honey section. 2–3 weeks before the honey flow, frames with brood should be placed in the upper part of the hive, while the queen bee is kept in the lower part, separated by the excluder. In this way, the brood in the upper part of the hive emerges before the honey harvest. This method makes it possible to remove frames for honey extraction as complete supers rather than individually.

In addition, for easy removal of bees from honey supers before extracting honey, we recommend using the “Star” bee escape.

The queen excluder is made from high-quality metal. The edges of the grid are specially rounded so that bees can move between the hive sections easily and without injury. The openings are sized so that worker bees can pass through them, while the queen bee, being larger, cannot.
