10-Frame Queen Excluder 410x495 mm (Ukraine)
Every beekeeper knows that all processes inside the hive should be kept under maximum control if you want to achieve efficient results when harvesting honey. One of the most important parts of the process is separating the honey section of the hive from the brood section. For this task, a beekeeper cannot do without a queen excluder. Its main function is to confine the queen bee to the brood area of the hive.
How this process works: frames with brood are moved in advance to the upper part of the hive, while drawn comb is left in the lower part for the queen bee to lay in. The lower part is then separated using this excluder. By the time of the honey flow, the brood emerges in the upper part of the hive body and the frames are filled with honey. Thanks to this method, when extracting honey the beekeeper can remove frames as complete hive bodies rather than one by one.
Using the excluder not only gives the beekeeper reliable queen bee confinement in the required place and helps protect the nucleus hive (nuc) from a foreign queen bee, but also prevents drones from passing through it. At the same time, worker bees can move freely between the hive sections separated by the excluder.
The excluder is made from dense, high-quality plastic with a thickness of 2.5 mm. The slot width is 4.4 mm, allowing worker bees to move between sections easily and, of course, without injury.
