Silicone mould for making cell cups (50 cell cups).
A silicone mould in the form of a small rectangular plate, used for making wax cell cups at home. The advantage of this method is that any beekeeper can produce an unlimited number of cell cups from natural wax at any time, either in the apiary or at home. For example, this is especially useful if the apiary is far from town and it is inconvenient to travel to a shop every time. By purchasing this mould once, you can then produce cell cups very cheaply from raw material that is readily available in abundance in any apiary. To make cell cups yourself, you only need wax and a way to melt it.
This mould is made from high-quality food-grade silicone with a platinum catalyst. The raw material used to make our moulds is produced in the USA, unlike cheap moulds made from Chinese technical silicone using a tin catalyst. Cheap moulds made from poor-quality raw materials have a specific smell that repels bees. As a result, queen bees will not lay in such cell cups. Only a high-quality mould made from safe materials will help ensure that queen bees accept the finished wax cell cups.
