This plant is one of the best honey plants and is valued for its high honey yield. Honey obtained from Phacelia is very sweet, has a pleasant spicy aroma and resembles thick cream in appearance. Among beekeepers, Phacelia is valued for being undemanding: it does not need frequent watering, is resistant to pests and parasites, and tolerates temperature fluctuations well.

Phacelia flowers in early summer, from June to July, for an average of 40-50 days. If sown in several stages, it is possible to achieve 3-4 flowering periods in one season. The nectar produced by Phacelia flowers contains a high amount of sugar, which attracts bees. Another feature of the flowers is that they continue to secrete nectar throughout the day, even after sunset.

Phacelia repels pests and parasites, so it is often sown next to other agricultural crops.
