Strong-acting varroa mite treatment strips with the active ingredient fluvalinate. Pack contains 80 strips (40x2).
The product is used for the prevention and elimination of varroa mites. It is yellow in colour with a slight odour. The active ingredient provides high efficacy; the main point is not to overdose. Therefore, for each level of infestation and for prevention, depending on the bee colony, a different number of strips is used. Before use, the strips are divided into two parts. There is a fold in the centre of the strip, along which it is cut.
For prevention in a small colony – half a strip (5 cm)
For prevention in a large colony – one strip (10 cm)
For a low number of mites – half a strip (5 cm)
For heavy infestation - one strip (10 cm)
Each strip has holes. They are used to position the product between the bee frames in the central area of the brood nest so that bees can move over it on both sides of the frames, and it is left in place for 10 days. After this the strip is removed and replaced with a new strip. That is, to achieve the maximum effect of the product, treatment should be carried out 2 times. For an effective result, bee colonies are treated during the broodless period (spring, autumn) or after removing brood from the colony. For best results, apply the product in the morning in good weather.
Under the action of the product, the varroa mite’s muscles spasm, movement is disrupted, after which the mite dies. Adult varroa mites fall to the bottom of the hive within 30 minutes after “Manhao” is placed in the hive. Young mites will die within 21-28 days.
The optimum number of “Manhao” hive treatments is twice a year.
Warning! When working with the product, it is recommended to wear gloves and a respirator. After treating hives, always wash your hands. Store in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.
Always test the product on a few bee colonies (2-3) before you treat the whole apiary.
Hives can be treated with “Manhao” at temperatures from +10 °C.
