A strong-action treatment for varroa mites with fluvalinate as the active ingredient. Pack contains 10 strips.
“Manpu” varroa mite strips
Recommendations for use
A strong-action product in strip form, ranging from light yellow to orange-yellow in colour, with a characteristic odour. Used for effective control of varroa mites.
Permitted rates for mite control per bee colony:
For prevention in a small colony – half a strip
For prevention in a large colony – one strip, divided into two parts
Where only a small number of mites is present – half a strip
In cases of heavy mite infestation - one strip, divided into two parts
Place the divided strips between the bee frames in the central area of the brood nest so that the bees can move over them from both sides of the frames, and leave for 7 to 10 days. Then remove and dispose of them. For effective results, treat bee colonies during a broodless period (spring, autumn) or after brood has been removed from the colony.
Hives can be treated with “Manpu” at temperatures from +10.
As the fluvalinate content in the product is low, it does not harm the bees or the queen bee, while at the same time having a lethal effect on varroa mites. However, frequent treatment with the product is not permitted. This may lead to mites developing resistance to the active substance. The optimal application rate is twice per year.
Treatment should be completed 30-45 days before the start of the main honey flow.
Warning! When working with the product, it is recommended to wear gloves and a respirator. Always wash your hands after treating hives!
Always test the product on a few colonies (2-3) first, before treating the whole apiary.
