Using a bee smoker to smoke bees has been practised for many years. It is one of the simplest and safest ways to calm bees during hive inspections.
Smoke does not harm either the bees or the beekeeper. However, during smoking there is a risk of burning the skin on the bee smoker. For this reason, it is fitted with a special burn guard, making the smoking process safer.
The stainless steel bee smoker is equipped with a burn guard. It does not heat up thanks to constant air circulation through small holes positioned all around the burn guard.
The bee smoker itself has a cylindrical body with a cone-shaped lid. Inside the smoker body there is a metal cup with a mesh bottom. Smoking materials are placed in it; as they burn, the ash falls into the space between the bottom of the smoker and the cup.
