Beekeeper’s bee smoker “EURO-EXPERT” Maxi

The bee smoker for beekeepers – is one of the oldest items of beekeeping equipment. It is used to smoke bees during hive inspections and helps to reduce their defensiveness.

This beekeeping bee smoker has a cylindrical shape, with bellows attached to the body and a domed lid with a smoke outlet hole (hole diameter – 15 mm). The tool is made from stainless steel.

The smoker is fitted with a double perforated base stand, which allows good air flow from the bellows to maintain smouldering. Between the main base of the apiary smoker and the removable base there is a space (2,5 cm), intended for ash fall-through. It also serves as an element of protection against burns. The main role in protecting against injury is provided by the protective guard.

Using the beekeeper’s smoker “EURO-EXPERT”

To smoke bees beekeepers use smoke-producing materials (punk wood, tree fungus and others.). They are placed on the removable base and lit. The beekeeper’s smoker should be held by the upper part of the bellows and pressed periodically to pump air. Inside, the bellows contain a spring, which immediately returns them to their original position. Before inspecting the’colony, through the entrance into the hive it is advisable to give 2-3 puffs of smoke, after which smoke is then released into the centre of the nest.

After use, the beekeeping bee smoker should be cleaned: remove the base, shake out the remains from combustion, and clean off soot. The bellows can be secured with a clip (included in the set).
