Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride (2 g)

Composition and form: 1 gram of the preparation contains approximately 860 mg of active substance. Supplied as a yellow powder with a slight specific odour. The preparation is packed in hermetically sealed cellophane sachets. One sachet contains 2 g of the preparation.

Action of the preparation: oxytetracycline suppresses the reproduction of Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms. The preparation is completely non-toxic to bees; when used according to the instructions, it has no negative effect on the condition, productivity or general development of bees.

Direct indications for use are European and American foulbrood, as well as other bacterial diseases of bees

Dosage and method of use: treatment of bees with oxytetracycline is carried out in spring, before the start of the honey flow. Bees can also be treated in summer, after the extraction of marketable honey has been completed.

Before starting treatment of bees with the preparation, they should be transferred into clean, disinfected hives and old queen bees should be replaced with healthy ones. Bees can be treated with the preparation by feeding, spraying or dusting the bee colonies. Treatment is carried out at a rate of 0.5 grams of the preparation per bee colony with a strength of 10 seams of bees. The most effective method of treating bees with the preparation is spraying. To treat bees by spraying, dissolve the preparation in a small amount of warm boiled water and add it to the main quantity of water, based on a rate of 10-15 ml of the resulting solution per 1 frame. Spraying should be carried out using fine mist sprayers of the "Rosinka" type. They ensure even spraying of bee colonies. The area where the infected brood was located should be moistened especially thoroughly.

If you decide to treat the bees by dusting, the preparation should be mixed with icing sugar (5-6 g of sugar per 1 frame).

To treat bees by feeding oxytetracycline, dissolve the required amount of the preparation in a small amount of warm water, mix with 50% sugar syrup and feed to the bees at a rate of 100 ml of mixture per 1 frame.

The treatment process is repeated 3-4 times at intervals of 6-7 days, until all signs of the disease have completely disappeared. At the same time, thorough disinfection of all working equipment, hives and combs should be carried out. Hive debris and dead bees are burned.

Shelf life of the preparation: 2 years from the date of manufacture. Store in a place well protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 35°C
