Gusliya 12V Beekeeping Electric Uncapping Knife, black medical-grade steel

In the past, beekeepers heated water and warmed their knives in hot water to remove cappings. The water had to be kept hot constantly and the knives reheated regularly. Thanks to modern technology, beekeepers can uncap frames much faster.

One of the most successful inventions in this area is the beekeeping electric uncapping knife, which can be powered from a standard 12-volt car battery. It is especially convenient for migratory beekeepers. In a stationary apiary, any 220 to 12 volt voltage converter can be used. Using the Gusliya knife allows the beekeeper to speed up and simplify the preparation of honey frames for honey extraction several times over.

The low 25 watt power consumption of this electric uncapping knife allows it to heat up to 90°C while using power sources economically. A standard 60A car battery is sufficient for more than 28 hours of continuous operation of the electric knife.

• Knife blade dimensions: 2mm x 40mm x 230 mm.
• Knife power supply (voltage): 12 volts.
• Temperature of the heated knife in working condition: 70-90°C.
• Electric knife power: 25 watts.
• Temperature of the switched-on knife when not in use (dry): 100°C.
• Time to prepare the knife for work (heating to 90°C): less than 1 minute (40-50 sec).
• Knife operating time under working load: unlimited (the knife does not require cooling).
• Made from black (medical-grade) steel

Possible electrical power sources for the knife:

• standard 12 Volt car battery;
• 12 Volt car charger;
• 220/12V voltage converter.

Instructions for using the electric knife

Connect the electric knife to a power source and it will be ready for use after one minute. When heated for work, the blade temperature is about 90°C, but during continuous uncapping of honey frames the temperature may drop to 70°C. During intensive work, the knife blade should be cleaned periodically. While working through the cappings, the knife melts wax and cools down, so when preparing the next frames it should be placed on a wooden or metal stand. After use, the knife should be cleaned and dried. Store in a dry place without a cover.
