Set of bases (bottoms) for Jenter cell cups, 115 pcs

In any Jenter comb kit, the bases are supplied as part of the set. The Jenter comb has a total of 112 holes for inserting the bases. The bases and cell cups are among the most sensitive parts of the kit to external influences. They are easily deformed if water that is too hot is used for cleaning, or they can simply get lost. Many beekeepers who rear queens commercially do not clean the small parts, but simply replace them with new ones.
Queen cell when using the Jenter comb

A queen cell on a Jenter cell cup has the correct size and shape

The bases are inserted into the Jenter comb and have a rounded shape that follows the bottom of a cell in a natural honeycomb. When confined on the comb, the queen bee lays eggs, which are then removed from the comb as larvae and inserted into a cell cup to form a queen cell.

When connected to the base, the cell cups look like one complete item with no visible joins. Thanks to this connection, the larva in the cell cup is readily accepted by the bees for queen rearing. The bees immediately start building the queen cell and caring for the queen larva.

Jenter cell cups and bases can also be used separately from the system. For grafting, one-day-old larvae are transferred with a grafting tool.

Cleaning the bases can sometimes be quite difficult. Hot water at the wax melting temperature of 65 °C should be used for cleaning. If there is even the slightest deformation, the bases should be replaced with new ones.
