Dadant Isolator for 1 Frame (Plastic Queen Excluder Grid)

The isolator is designed to restrict egg laying by the queen bee and to obtain brood of the same age, which is required for queen rearing.

It is also used in queen breeding during the first stages of introducing a young queen bee into a split or a bee colony.

The procedure involves placing brood frames into the isolator and releasing the queen bee to be introduced. As bees emerge from the combs, they accept the queen bee as their own and care for her, allowing her to lay eggs in the empty cells. After a few days, the frames with the queen bee and bees are removed from the isolator and transferred to the hive.

This isolator is designed for one standard Dadant-size frame. Two plastic grids are fitted on the sides.
