EPS Dadant hive for 6 frames (plastic floor)

Expanded polystyrene hives are widely used by beekeepers all over the world. They are ideal for creating splits. The material’s good thermal properties provide comfortable overwintering for small colonies with reserve queen bees. The hive volume is sufficient both for catching a swarm and for temporary isolation when dealing with Varroa mite, foulbrood, etc.

In our online store you can choose a painted or unpainted hive. It is recommended to coat an unpainted hive with a special paint to make it more resistant to external factors.

The hive consists of three parts - floor, Dadant body and roof.

The delivery set also includes plugs of two types: plastic ventilation plugs and trapezoidal expanded polystyrene plugs (stoppers).

The hive design allows bees to overwinter, provides the colony with sufficient feed stores and, in addition, the use of a crownboard makes feeding the bees easier. Thanks to this design, the beekeeper can also check the condition of overwintered colonies in spring without disturbing the nest.
