Bee Bread Collection Kit for Dadant Frame

The bee bread collection equipment consists of puzzle combs with through-holes and a manual plunger. The puzzle combs are made of plastic. Two sides of the comb frame are assembled from the puzzle combs, with food-grade film placed between them. The assembled combs are then attached to the bee frame. The kit is designed for a Dadant frame and consists of 24 puzzle combs. The manual ejector is used to compact pollen pellets and to push bee bread out of the combs.

Bee bread production process:

1. Assemble the puzzle combs and attach them to both sides of the Dadant frame. Food-grade film is placed between the puzzle combs.

2. Lay the frame horizontally, spread the pollen pellets evenly and compact them with the manual press (ejector). Turn the frame over to the other side and repeat the whole process. Repeat the procedure several times on each side until the combs are filled to 2/3 of their height.

3. Coat the surface of the puzzle combs with liquid honey on both sides.

4. Place the prepared frame into the brood nest of the bee colony, following the recommendations in the instructions supplied with the kit.

5. After the bee bread has matured, remove the frame, open the puzzle combs and push out the bee bread granules with the manual press. Bee bread collection is recommended in the first half of the spring-summer season (mid-May).
