AVV bench tool for wiring beehive frames
The bench tool holds a frame while wire is threaded and tensioned. Its base carries a spool holder, rollers, a locking screw and stops. It is intended for preparing Dadant, Langstroth-Root and shallow frames.
Operating sequence
- Place the frame between the stops and secure it with the locking screw.
- Insert the wire spool into the holder.
- Thread the wire through the holes in the frame side bars, passing it around the corresponding roller each time.
- Secure the lower wire end.
- Starting at the bottom, release the wire from each roller in turn and tension it.
- Secure the upper end and cut off excess wire.
- Loosen the locking screw and remove the frame.
Preparing for the job
You will need a frame with holes in its side bars, a spool of frame wire and fastenings for the wire ends. Confirm the supplied components and compatibility with your frames before ordering.
