The plastic hive entrance gate is made as a sliding section with a handle, which is mounted on a rail to the main section.

This hive entrance gate has two positions:
- ventilation
- fully open
Ventilation holes are made in the sliding gate to allow air access. When the slide is moved to the left, the gate openings are uncovered, giving bees free passage. In the right-hand position, the hive entrance is closed and switches to ventilation mode. Small air holes remain open, but bees cannot pass through them.
Special holes for nails or self-tapping screws are provided in the design for mounting the hive entrance gate on the hive.
