Working with the press
First of all, the press must be set in a horizontal position; using a spirit level is recommended. On one side, the press has special threaded feet to help you secure it on the table. The wax is cooled by feeding cold water into the cooling tubes of the press, which run beneath its casing. As it passes through them, the water will cool the wax quickly and evenly. The water must not be very cold and should be supplied at low pressure to avoid depressurising the unit.
During operation of the press, excess wax will flow out and collect in the tray installed underneath it (the tray is included). A measuring cup is also supplied with the press, allowing you to measure out an even quantity of wax to be poured in. For working with the press, it is advisable to use a small spatula for cutting off excess wax that has set around the edges and for lifting the finished sheet of beeswax foundation.
The process of pouring wax into the press is very simple. Lift the top cover, which opens at an angle of 100-120 ° relative to the lower part, and pour in the required amount of wax using the measuring cup. Do not pour all the wax into one spot; it is better to spread it over as large an area of the press as possible.
The cooling time for one sheet of beeswax foundation is approximately 1-2 minutes and often depends on a number of factors, such as the temperature of the melted wax and the temperature of the water supplied to the cooling system. Before removing the beeswax foundation, first open the top cover using the small lever on the left, then open the cover fully using the handle on top.
With this press, you can make your own beeswax foundation without impurities or other additives. This type of foundation is accepted by bees many times better and helps them build higher-quality comb compared with purchased foundation.
The press allows you to produce 40 to 60 sheets of clean beeswax foundation per hour.
Disassembling the press is prohibited, as reassembly will not be possible.
