Bayvarol strips for bees images
German Bayvarol strips for the treatment and prevention of varroosis (Varroa jacobsoni) in honey bees.
Bayvarol is a German product from BAYER based on flumethrin, supplied as plastic strips.
Flumethrin is an effective active ingredient. Each strip contains 3.6 mg of flumethrin, which acts on the nerve cells of ectoparasites. Bayvarol is used for the treatment and prevention of varroosis in honey bees.
Bayvarol strips should be hung in the centre of the hive so that the bees can move along both sides of the strip. The strips are fitted with convenient loops for securing them to the frames. One bee colony requires 4 Bayvarol strips. For weaker colonies, half the dose is sufficient (two strips). Leave the strips in the hive for 35-42 days. 
For diagnosis, before placing Bayvarol in the hive, put a clean sheet of white paper on the bottom board. One day after hanging the strips, check the sheet for dead mites.
Bayvarol is supplied in cardboard boxes containing 5 blisters, each with 4 strips.
