Galvanised 2-piece lower hive entrance
The hive entrance reducer (lower entrance) is used by beekeepers to reduce the bees’ access into the hive or to close the bees inside the hive using one of the plates (slide).
The entrance reducer is simple to use and install. It consists of two metal plates (galvanised steel). One of the plates (with guide grooves) is fitted to the hive body, and the second is inserted into the guide grooves, thereby restricting the passage for bees. By turning the slide over, it can be inserted on either side as required. One side has openings for bee ventilation, while the other is used to restrict the queen bee from exiting or to prevent mice from entering the hive. Ventilation in a closed hive is important (even in winter).
