Apifluva-PRO mite treatment strips (80 strips / 40x2)
Effective Apifluva-PRO mite treatment strips with the active ingredient tau-fluvalinate.
Apifluva-PRO strips (80 pcs/40x2)
Supplied as yellow-orange strips with a slight unpleasant odour.
Pharmacological action:
This product has contact and stomach toxicity and is non-volatile. Tau-fluvalinate can act on the nervous system of the varroa mite through specific receptors or by dissolving in the membrane, changing the permeability of the synaptic membrane to ions. It selectively acts on the sodium channel of the membrane, delays closure of the channel gate, and causes Na+ to continue entering, leading to excessive excitation, spasms and paralysis, up to death. After the strips have been hung for half an hour, they begin to act. During the broodless period, the duration of use can be adjusted from 21 to 28 days for complete destruction of varroa mites; this is a long-acting product. During periods with brood, please extend the application time.
Interaction: Do not use it with other pesticides or treatments, as this may be harmful to bees.
Indications: A miticide used to kill and control varroa mites.
Dosage and use:
1. Hanging method: hang the strip between two comb frames above the hive entrance, or diagonally between two comb frames. Use 1/3~1/2 strip for a hive with fewer than 4 comb frames; use 1/2 strip for a hive with 4-8 comb frames; use 1/2~1 strip for a hive with more than 8 comb frames: Repeat the strip application after 5-7 days. Applying the treatment 3-4 times is one course of treatment.
2. A test treatment is required! Select 3-5 bee colonies for testing before applying to all colonies.
Create a specific treatment plan after observing the test for 24-48 hours. It is better to carry out the test in the morning on a sunny day and adjust the dose according to the actual situation. Increase or decrease the dose or application time where there are tiered hives, fewer comb frames, or a severe varroa mite infestation.
Adverse reactions:
- This product has no obvious adverse reactions in healthy bee colonies; it may cause bees to crawl in bee colonies with weak natural resistance (for example, Megachile), or in unhealthy bees, sensitive bee colonies and bees at different stages of development with different resistance to the treatment. After applying the treatment, observe for several hours and take any necessary action.
Precautions:
- 1. Please air-dry the strips in the shade for 24-48 hours if you find that the strips are damp or stuck together. The strips can be used when they no longer stick to your fingers; otherwise, this may harm the bees. Please do not place them in the sun, otherwise the effectiveness will be greatly reduced.
- 2. Do not use this product if the temperature is above 35°C or below 15°C. The product is not recommended for use in situations such as migratory beekeeping, the start of culling bee colonies, sugar deficiency in bees, or other non-standard situations.
- 3. This product must not be used on bee colonies that have received alkaline pollen, such as Chinese camellia pollen, or other alkaline medicines, and/or during the camellia collection period.
- 4. The strips must not be left continuously in the hive for more than 6 weeks.
- 5. When hanging the strips, please wear protective gloves and a mask. Wash your hands after use.
- 6. Used strips must not be reused and should be disposed of in a centralised place.
- 7. The strips must not come into contact with edible honey and must not be stored together with pesticides or other chemicals.
- 8. Store this product away from food and out of reach of children, and open the package only when it is ready to be used.
- 9. Do not use this product during the honey flow period.
