Queen Rearing Kit (10 pcs), Czech Republic
This modern queen rearing kit makes it much easier to produce high-quality queen bees. The set includes ten kits, each consisting of an artificial cell cup, an artificial queen cell and a cell cup holder.
When rearing queen bees, larvae from breeding or productive bee colonies are transferred into an artificial cell cup and given to special cell-building colonies for queen rearing. The cell cup has a special stem (peg) for fixing it to a bar or inserting it into prepared holes.
To help the bees build queen cells, an artificial queen cell is placed over the cell cup, copying the dimensions of a properly formed natural queen cell. These mature queen cells always have the correct shape and size, and the queen bees produced from them are large and show high quality performance. However, the main advantage of this type of queen cell is its resistance to being chewed open. Such queen cells, before the queen bees emerge, can be introduced into colonies or splits without fear and without additional protection. The queen cells are not chewed by bees or queen bees, and the queen bees that emerge from them are accepted as their own.
For fixing a mature queen cell onto the comb, the kit includes a queen cell holder with a hole for inserting the cell cup peg and a sharp end for pressing into the comb. These queen cells hold securely on the comb, allowing the beekeeper to successfully carry out all planned queen breeding operations.
