Chintz cotton is a light, thin fabric designed to protect against bees in hot weather. There is a continuous mesh veil around the hat. The mesh is not sewn in all the way round; the front part of the mesh is held on the peak with elastic. If needed, the mesh can be lowered without removing the whole hat from your head. Metal rings are sewn inside the veil to give it shape. Under the neck, the veil has an adjustable drawstring.
