Honey cappings (Zabrus), 100 g
Honey cappings (zabrus) are a bee product left after cutting off the tops (cappings) of sealed honeycomb cells. Honey bees seal honey in the comb with wax cappings once it has ripened. An environmentally clean product!
Honey cappings (Zabrus), 100 g
Before extracting honey, beekeepers remove the cappings with a special beekeeping knife, roller or uncapping fork and leave them on a grid so the honey can drain off, or give them back to the bees to remove the remaining honey. The resulting dry cappings are melted down in wax melters for wax, or sold as a special product. Honey cappings produce the highest-quality wax.
Sweet and honey-like in taste; when chewed, the mass breaks up into small lumps. As a rule, the wax in cappings differs in composition from comb wax.
In addition to wax, honey cappings contain several other components that make them very beneficial for people. These include propolis — a natural antibiotic, pollen — a vitamin complex, honey, and lysozyme — an enzyme that helps protect against bacteria and viruses. The concentration of lysozyme in cappings is 100 times higher than in honey.
Used for:
- respiratory conditions. Honey cappings are used in the treatment of sore throat, bronchitis, tracheitis and pneumonia;
- nasopharyngeal conditions. For a runny nose and sinusitis, honey cappings should be chewed every hour for 15 minutes;
- digestive system conditions. Chewing honey cappings causes strong salivation, which improves the motor and secretory functions of the stomach. When swallowed, cappings act as a sorbent, removing harmful substances from the stomach and intestines and improving peristalsis;
- oral health. Chewing honey cappings helps clean dental plaque, disinfects the mouth, and strengthens teeth and gums. Honey cappings are a healthy and tasty chewing gum;
- to support immunity in both children and adults, honey cappings are recommended for use in combination with bee bread, pollen, royal jelly and honey.
