Royal jelly production is a very worthwhile area of beekeeping.
Beekeepers who specialise in it are often referred to as “royal jelly producers”. However, for home use the task once seemed quite difficult, mainly due to the lack of beekeeping tools for collecting royal jelly. Today this is no longer a problem, and royal jelly can now be collected even for home use on your own apiary.
A special tool is used for collecting royal jelly — a spatula with a specially rubberised blade made from food-grade material. This simple tool allows you to collect royal jelly from queen cell cups in just seconds, and with a large, regular number of queen cells, to organise royal jelly production on a continuous basis. The blade itself is removable and should be cleaned and dried after use. The plastic handle is very convenient to use, and at its base, near the blade, there is a metal tip to give the blade extra rigidity during royal jelly collection.
