No apiary can do without a bee smoker. Every beekeeper should know what a bee smoker is and how to use it correctly. A bee smoker consists of a metal section and bellows. The soft leather bellows feed air into the smoker’s combustion chamber. Thanks to the softness of the natural leather bellows, the beekeeper’s hands do not tire while working with the smoker. Inside the smoker, in the stainless steel fire cup, fuel burns and produces smoke. The fire cup does not sit directly on the very bottom of the smoker. There is space below, between the fire cup and the base, where ash and burnt-out embers can fall.
The smoker lid has a spout through which the smoke comes out. Another very important design feature is that the smoker lid has a “spark arrester”. This prevents sparks from accidentally flying out of the smoker and causing a fire during use. The lid has handles for opening.
The manufacturer has provided additional protection at the air inlet. This also helps prevent hot embers from falling out of the smoker.
The protective guard helps protect the beekeeper from burns when working with the smoker, as the smoker itself heats up to a high temperature during use. The protective guard and the bellows have hooks so that the smoker can be hung on the hive.
The manufacturer also provides 2 design options for the lid handles and smoker holder, which differ slightly from each other. (see photo 2)
