The entrance reducer consists of two plastic plates. One acts as the base, while the second (the slide) is used to control the level of opening at the hive entrance. The slide has 15 openings for bees to pass through.
The 2-piece entrance reducer allows you to set the required entrance size. During the honey flow, it is opened fully. When transporting the hive, the entrance is closed. To do this, simply turn the slide the other way round. It slides easily into the base and locks securely in place.
The entrance reducer is fitted to the lower entrance of the hive. It is attached with two small nails or screws, driven into the dedicated holes on both sides. The reducer is easy to secure and can be removed when required.
