Thick cage with a small lid. Used to isolate a queen bee or queen cell.
The cage (roller cage) is used in queen rearing to isolate queen cells or queen bees. Thanks to these cages, queen bees remain safe, as the first emerged queen could otherwise destroy all the others.
The plastic roller cage measures 60 mm. The cage walls are covered with small openings through which air circulates continuously. There are also two large round openings on both sides of the roller cage. One of the openings is closed with a small lid attached to the cage. It securely blocks access for bees. Any Jenter queen cell cup holder can be attached to the second opening: ribbed, smooth or “Quick Start”.
While inside the cage, the queen bee will not experience any discomfort, as there is enough space for movement. Feed can also be placed inside the cage.
