API-MAXI "30" Queen Rearing Comb

Beekeepers involved in queen rearing will already have heard of queen rearing systems such as Nicot, Jenter and, of course, the queen rearing system called "API-MAXI". The debate over which system is better, Nicot or Jenter, still continues, while the Bulgarian manufacturer of the "API-MAXI" kit is steadily gaining the trust of beekeepers around the world. The Bulgarian comb competes with French and German manufacturers thanks to its low cost. This does not affect the quality of queen rearing. API combs are budget copies of Nicot systems; the system features and operating principle are very similar. If you have only just decided to start queen rearing and are put off by the price of Nicot and Jenter kits, you can confidently buy the Bulgarian API-MAXI "30" comb. With minimal outlay, you get a complete queen rearing system with which you can try your hand.

Visually, the Api "Maxi" design differs very little from the original Nicot system. The main comb cassette of the Api "Maxi" has 110 openings for cell cups. It is closed on both sides with grids to confine the queen bee on the comb. In the Api "Max" system, the front and rear grids are the same, unlike the grids in Nicot, where the front grid differs from the rear one. As in the Nicot system, the cassette has a compartment with space for candy and for introducing queen bees. However, the slotted grid above this compartment does not allow the system to be fully used for queen introduction. Most beekeepers do not use this function. Api "Maxi" cell cups are virtually no different from Nicot cell cups and are also readily accepted by bees. The Api "Max" holder for the cell cup is brown (Nicot is beige) and differs slightly in shape from the Nicot holders, but these changes do not create any functional differences. The beige holder base (Nicot is brown) has two holes for fixing to the grafting bar. Cell cups with larvae, once fixed to the holders, are transferred to the grafting bar with prepared bases and placed into a prepared bee colony for queen cell rearing.
