“Klin” Honeycomb Uncapping Tool
The “Klin” honeycomb uncapping tool is designed to speed up the uncapping process and, consequently, the extraction of honey from the comb. The uncapping tool has 2 electrically heated knives made from stainless steel. The power supply required to heat the knives is 12 Volts; you can use power from a 220 / 12V or 220 / 24V step-down transformer; DC or AC (as well as a car battery charger). To uncap the comb, you need to place the frame on the device; the frame is securely positioned in the prepared recess, then move the sliding part of the uncapping tool towards the knives. The knives can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally. When working with the uncapping tool, please bear in mind that a full honey frame will sag when in a horizontal position.
Warning: take care when working with the tool. When moving the frame, the beekeeper’s hands are in close proximity to the knives.
