Jenter grafting bar
The bar is used to position cell cups with larvae on a grafting frame. The bar consists of three sections (11 cell cups on each), which connect to form one bar and are securely held by two plastic clips. One assembled bar holds 33 cell cups from the Jenter comb. Three rows of these bars can be fitted to one grafting frame, giving 99 queen cell cups per frame.
When rearing queen bees with the Jenter comb and using a grafting frame, it is possible to use thin protective “hair roller” cages to isolate queen bees before emergence and protect the queen cells.
The length of the finished (assembled) grafting bar is 345 mm. The Jenter grafting bar is installed by placing it on a grafting frame made from a standard hive frame. Width: 30 mm.
This bar is supplied with some Jenter comb sets, but the Jenter company gives beekeepers the option to buy all component parts as needed.
