Polystyrene Foam Dadant Hive + Super for 6-Frame Bee Packages

Polystyrene foam hives are widely used by beekeepers all over the world. They are ideal for making splits. The material’s good thermal properties provide comfortable wintering for small colonies with spare queen bees. The hive volume is sufficient both for catching swarms and for temporary isolation when dealing with Varroa mite, foulbrood, etc. And the presence of a super means that you can produce honey in this hive.

In our online store you can choose a painted or unpainted hive. An unpainted hive is recommended to be coated with special paint to make it more resistant to external factors.

The hive consists of five parts:

•      Plastic floor;
•      Dadant brood body;
•      Crownboard;
•      Super body;
•      Polystyrene foam roof.

The delivery set also includes an entrance reducer with a slide, and two types of plugs: plastic ventilation plugs and trapezoidal polystyrene foam plugs (blanking plugs).
